If it walks like a duck... It’s A duck!
Why “It’s A Duck!”?
The name comes from a simple belief: if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. If the symptoms are there, they’re real — even if the tests say “normal.” I created this space so women are believed, supported and equipped with tools that make life lighter.
Hi, I’m Brenda - founder of It’s A Duck!
For over 20 years I worked in retail banking, often supporting people through moments of stress and vulnerability. Alongside that, I co-founded Support 2gether, a local charity for families experiencing antenatal and postnatal depression and anxiety. I became an EMCC-accredited Mental Health & Wellbeing Coach in 2016 and deliver creative wellbeing programmes with groups like SureStarts and Care for Cancer across Tyrone and beyond.
Then my own health shifted - brain fog, anxiety, panic, the lot. At 44, while struggling at work, someone said “perimenopause.” Tests were “normal,” but nothing felt normal. It’s A Duck! was born from that moment: if the signs are there, they’re real — and you deserve compassionate support.
